Kate Genovese began dancing at the age of 4 in her hometown of Concord, NH. She trained at Debbie's School of Dance in tap, jazz, and ballet before eventually joining the competition team. She continued her training at Capital City Dance Center, where she was a teacher's assistant and also danced competitively, performing at Nationals in South Carolina and taking part in a performance at Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Florida. She also took two years to train at NH School of Ballet, meanwhile taking over her high school's Dance elective class during her senior year. Kate went on to attend The University of New Hampshire, earning her BA in Theatre & Dance. There she was a 3-year member of the UNH Dance Company, as well as choreographing pieces for student showcases and class projects. In addition, she danced for Neoteric Dance Collaborative during its debut year. Upon moving to Boston, she briefly performed with and choreographed for DancEdge before becoming involved with DanceWorks Boston. This is Kate's second-season choreographing for the DanceWorks Boston Project.
