Lauren began dancing at the age of 3 and started competing at the age of 5 with Dance Obsessions - a studio located in a Philadelphia suburb. She competed on a team holding multiple regional and national titles in lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, and jazz. After graduating high school, Lauren attended Penn State University to pursue a degree in Industrial Engineering. She was far from ready to let go of her passion for dance and joined a Penn State Dance Company to continue dancing and performing. Soon after having the opportunity to choreograph for this group, Lauren discovered an even greater love and was selected to be head choreographer for her team. Her greatest achievement in her college dance career was choreographing her company’s performance for THON, the country’s largest student run philanthropy organization fighting pediatric cancer. After graduating, Lauren moved to Boston and accepted a position as a Systems Engineer. She also began teaching at a local dance studio. She soon discovered Danceworks Boston and is extremely excited to have the opportunity to choreograph for the second time this season!
