Nadiya Ledan joined DanceWorks Boston in it's tenth season and fell in love with it. She grew up 20 minutes south of Boston where she studied ballet, tap and jazz at a local studio for 9 years, although hip-hop and Afro-carribean are more of her style. She also attended Emmanuel College where she joined the competitive hip-hop dance team, choreographed numerous pieces and was co-captain during her senior year. Since then, Nadiya has continued to teach and choreograph hip-hop and other styles of dance through her local studio and privately for the past seven years. She also performs at local events such as Outside the Box with her dance partner and received The Peforming Artist of the Year award through RAW Boston in 2013. She has also been featured in a few YouTube videos for the Love Dance project. Outside of DanceWorks, she teaches 8th grade writing at a charter school in Dorchester and is the mother of a lovely three-year-old named Elijah.
