Nadiya Ledan joined DanceWorks Boston in it's tenth season to get back on stage and join a caring community. She grew up 20 minutes south of Boston where she studied ballet, tap and jazz at a local studio for 9 years, although hip-hop and Afro-carribean styles are her passion. She attended Emmanuel College where she joined the competitive hip-hop dance team, choreographed numerous pieces and was co-captain during her senior year with fellow DWB member, Lauren Daniel. Since then, Nadiya has continued to teach and choreograph routines for private events including weddings and sweet sixteens. Along with a close friend, she has performed at local events including Outside the Box and received The Peforming Artist of the Year award through RAW Boston in 2013. She was also featured in a few YouTube videos for the Love Dance project. Outside of DanceWorks, Nadiya is a mom to a spunky 5-year-old and teaches 8th grade English at a charter school in Dorchester.
