Richie is excited to be choreographing for DanceWorks Boston for a fourth time; this is his fifth season with the company. He is also a member of UrManity, an underground faction of the Boston-based Urbanity, and does work with local movement collective Paradise Lost. Richie has been dancing since he could wobble, but began taking lessons in Coopersburg, Pennsylvania at the age of six. Growing up at Tim McGuire’s Dance Centre in Glens Falls, New York, he learned tap, jazz, and ballet, and eventually became an assistant dance teacher for ages three to 18. He helped open a second studio and began choreographing for his older class. Attending college at the State University of New York at Oneonta, Richie’s passion for dance was reignited as a choreographer for the student-run Terpsichorean Dance Company. Weeks after graduating with a degree in Music Industry and a minor in journalism he moved to Boston.
