Julia Wholey is a Project Manager at DanceWorks Boston. As part of the leadership team, you’ll see her helping to lead workshops, the first week of rehearsals, CostumeWorks, PhotoWorks, apparel, as well as other projects throughout the season!

Julia began her dance education early on at the age of 2, quickly finding a passion for it and expanding into various styles – ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary – then became a dedicated competition team member for over 10 years. She graduated from Endicott College with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and a minor in dance, where she performed and competed on the Endicott College Dance Team for 4 years, captaining the team to State Championship victories in her final 2 years and leading the team to Top 5 placements at the national level. Julia spent 4 years working for Universal Dance Association (UDA) as a member of staff, teaching dance techniques and choreography to school-aged dancers across the country. She also serves on judging panels for UDA and local state competitions.

In addition to her dance background, Julia became a Pure Barre fitness instructor in January of 2024, sharing her passion for movement with her local community. Julia grew up in Massachusetts where she has spent her time exploring all that New England has to offer, including ski trips to Vermont, beach days on the Cape, and attending many Bruins games at TD Garden. An adventure-seeking traveler, she has fed elephants in Thailand, driven ATVs in Aruba, and flyboarded in Vermont.

Julia is excited to enter her 9th season as a dancer in DanceWorks Boston and is eager to share the love she has for this community in her new leadership position.
