Dance took the back seat in my life for a few years, and I cannot be more thrilled to have it back in my life in a very real and challenging way.
— Amanda Tambling

This dance company is amazing! From the people, to the performances, I could not ask for a better organization to continue dancing in my adult life! Thank you so much to everyone involved that makes this group so special. It truly is the best thing that I have done since moving to Boston 2 years ago!

When I graduated college, I didn’t know how I was going to keep dancing, in a way that felt as fulfilling as I’d known growing up and through school; all I knew was that I needed to try. DanceWorks Boston is the company I didn’t know to even hope for. It is built on incredible talent, passion, and dedication through a community that values each of its members for the total (all differently wonderful) person. I feel lucky every day that I get to be a part of it.

When I graduated college five years ago, I assumed my dance career was over. Maybe I’d take a class here and there, yet I figured I had seen the last of my days on stage. But a few weeks later, I received an email from Lisa, and I remember that like it was yesterday. She was a fellow Bostonian who had danced in college and was missing her days of performing, so she was recruiting members for a new company she had recently established. And if I hadn’t answered that email, my life would be completely different today. DanceWorks Boston has given me so much more than the opportunity to dance again. It has introduced me to some of my best friends, connected me with professional opportunities, and most of all, it led me to my husband. I have nothing but gratitude for Lisa and the community she has created, and I will always treasure my DWB memories and family.

My first season with Danceworks Boston was amazing! I was so happy to find a group of welcoming people that also happen to be talented dancers. I am so grateful to have found a way to keep dance in my life after college.

I was very nervous and didn’t know what to expect. I came in very shy as I usually am, but towards the end I opened up, making new friends and new memories. For that, I thank you. This company is so welcoming and inviting. I just cannot wait until next season!

This organization is the reason I decided to continue to live in Boston. I have always had a passion and love for dance and knew that I had to find a way to keep dancing after college. I moved out of my home state and into Boston for a fresh start. The transition from college to “real life” was hard at first but becoming apart of a community helped immensely. DanceWorks Boston welcomed me with open arms. Not only did I get to continue dancing but I was able to make life long friendships with the most amazing people in Boston.

I had no idea what I had been missing until dance was back in my life. I feel so blessed to have found this family, so many life long friends...
— Dana Weaver

I am so excited for this opportunity to return to the stage. It’s been several years now, and I’m so thankful that DanceWorks exists, and I can reignite my passion for dance.
