Marissa starting dancing at the age of two in her hometown of East Windsor, CT. She continued training through high school with the Dance Academy of Somers where her love for dance bloomed and flourished. After high school, Marissa attended the University of Connecticut where she earned her B.S. in Electrical Engineering. In college she joined the UConn Dance Company – an all student run group that performs each semester at UConn’s own Jorgenson Theater with a showcase completely created by the dancers and choreographers. It was here Marissa first began choreographing, primarily in contemporary and hip hop. Post-graduation she moved to Boston to pursue her career in Electric Power Systems Engineering with National Grid. Now, in her second season of DanceWorks Boston, she couldn’t feel more blessed to have found her love of dance again with this talented and loving group of individuals.
