Mikayla began her movement career early in her life as a competitive figure skater. Quickly her passion translated to dance, specializing in hip hop. She pursued dance as her minor at Roger Williams University where she also became a choreographer and an officer of RWU Dance Club. Throughout her time at Roger Williams, Mikayla worked as a Backstage Director and a Judges Tabulator at Turn It Up Dance Challenge, giving her the opportunity to see behind the scenes of the competitive dance industry. After graduation, Mikayla obtained a variety of jobs in the dance community including a recreational dance instructor at Assumption College and a guest choreographer at her high school studio, Premier Dance Academy. One of her most exciting dance adventures was moving to Miami Florida the summer of 2015 to work for The Miami City Ballet Summer Intensive. She now resides in her home town of West Boylston MA, where she is a Program Director at a newly founded The Little Gym where she is involved in gymnastics and dance in her everyday life. Being part of Dance Works Boston for a third season is an honor for Mikayla and she can't wait to learn more from the talented company.
