Sophia Ferrera began her 15 years of dance training at Dance Carousel in Scituate, Massachusetts, competing on the award-winning Ensemble Dance team for 7 years. During her time competing, she won the Young Choreographer Award at the American Dance Awards two years in a row, and received the Sparkle Award and Bette Campbell Tap Scholarship from the Greater Brockton Dance Teachers Association in 2017.

After high school, she attended NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering and matriculated summa cum laude with a degree in Integrated Design and Media Studies. Sophia discovered her passion for experience design at NYU and has recently accepted a position as an event coordinator for a women-owned event planning company out of South Boston.

In her free time, Sophia loves choreographing for the competitive dance team at Zeal Performing Arts Studio on the South Shore, coaching group fitness classes at OrangeTheory, cooking for friends, and doing The New York Times crossword. It is her second season dancing and choreographing with DanceWorks Boston, and she is so grateful to be feeling the #DWBLove!
